Can I switch Hot & Cold off?
Yes. The library in Settings has a switch beside Hot & Cold, and turning it off takes it out of the sidebar, the search and the Today screen. The other 26 switchable modules work the same way.
Does Hot & Cold sync between the Mac and the iPhone?
Yes, once iCloud sync is unlocked for $14.99, paid once and covering the Mac and the iPhone together. Until then Hot & Cold keeps its data on the device you typed it into, and it goes nowhere else.
