Four goals with rings and progress bars: running 500 kilometres at 58 percent, shipping Cadence 1.0 at 72 percent, saving for a trip at 69 percent and reading 24 books at 58 percent, each with a note underneath and a slider to move it.
The line under the title is where you settle the argument in advance.

How it works

  1. Count anything

Kilometres, percent, money, books. The unit is whatever the two numbers you typed happen to be, so shipping a release and reading two a month share a list.

  2. The rule, written down

Anything on foot over 2km. Two a month, fiction counts. That line is where you decide what counts before you have a reason to be generous with yourself.

  3. Move it without opening it

A minus and a plus at either end of the bar, or drag the handle. Logging a run should take less time than the last kilometre did.

Asked about Goals

What is the Goals module in Cadence?

Something to get to, a date to get there by, and a way to move it without ceremony. Kilometres, percent, money, books. The unit is whatever the two numbers you typed happen to be, so shipping a release and reading two a month share a list.

Can I switch Goals off?

Yes. The library in Settings has a switch beside Goals, and turning it off takes it out of the sidebar, the search and the Today screen. The other 26 switchable modules work the same way.

Does Goals sync between the Mac and the iPhone?

Yes, once iCloud sync is unlocked for $14.99, paid once and covering the Mac and the iPhone together. Until then Goals keeps its data on the device you typed it into, and it goes nowhere else.

Keep Goals. Ignore the other twenty five.
